The Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, now in the 41st year in 2022, attracted 12,000 participants to the starting line at the Olympic Sports Centre. They ran through Macau icons including the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, A-Ma Temple and Sai Van Bridge.

Guardforce Macau, with its rich experience in managing large-scale events, provided security services for the marathon. The support began throughout the preparation period with security guards stationed at related facilities. A hundred security guards were deployed on the race day on 4 December to maintain order. As well as keeping watch along the route and helping with traffic flow, our security teams were also stationed at the stadium gate to check visitors’ Health Code and records of PCR and antigen tests.

Large-scale events, involving a large number of participants in a sizable venue, usually come with complex security requirements. It is paramount to have experienced and professional management to ensure smooth operations.
