Over 10,000 serious and amateur runners once again converged in Macau for the annual Macao Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon on 2 Dec, 2018. Co-organised by Macau’s Sports Department and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, the event consisted of a mini marathon, half marathon and full marathon.

A Guardforce team of four supervisors and 88 guards started the preparation since 24 November to ensure the event would run smoothly. They helped guard participants’ belongings in lockers and were stationed to support security along the 42.195 km running route, which started at Cotai and stretched across Sai Van Bridge to the areas around the Macau Tower, Barra and Nam Van Lake, turning back to Taipa along the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, through Taipa Village and Cotai and down into Coloane.

Guardforce Macau’s team, which has long-standing experience in providing security services for Macau’s major events, once again contributed to the smooth operation of the 2018 Macau Marathon.
